  • Fresh rebuild will not start... Help!

Hey I have a 96 merc 9.9 2 stroke. I just did a rebuild on it fresh rings and gaskets. Got everything back tougher and she wont start puff or anything. I have spark, fuel on the spark plugs. Took the carb off to check the jet real quick not clogged and fuel is getting to the reed block and spark plugs. But it will still not start? I feel that its something stupid but dont know were to look I know the kill switches are not a factor cause I am getting spark. Well my shoulder is sore so any ideas would be most appreciated. Also compression in 100psi in both cyc.

If you have the crankcase sealed properly and crank seals in correctly then check timing.

How would I check timing with motor not running? The key way is the only way that the fly wheel would go on how could timming be of? Also could I asume that since I am getting compression that the block is sealing correctly?
