  • Merc 115 4 stroke EFI TPS?

I have a Merc 115 4 Stroke EFI outboard and it started to act weird. It starts fine but has a bad loss of power. But when I play with the throttle it comes back to life. The more I play with the throttle the more power it can get out of it. Once I get it going good and I leave the throttle alone, it will run just fine like normal. Then if I come back to throttle I have to play with the throttle to get it to go again. Usually a pumping motion is what works best. I am thinking the TPS or Throttle Position Sensor could be the issue. Anyone have thoughts?
    Thanks, Mike

The TPS can be checked with computer diagnostic system, the TPS voltage should increase and decrease smoothly as throttle moves up and down. You could use an analog ohm meter connected between blue and black TPS wire(TPS connector disconnected) but computer diagnostic is the best method.
