    2005 merc 150 saltwater,after sitting weak or month it just cranks and cranks like its not any fire then all of a suden it hits and fires and runs like its supposed to.have battery switch on both so plenty of juice.volts will drop to 10.5 to 11.2 while cranking and goes back to 12.8 when stopped cranking.i choke it like a johnson,maybe im doing something wrong,bulb is tight and getting gas.any help would be greatly appreciated. john

    Pump primer bulb up tight, give it about 1/3 throttle and choke it till fires, usually starts right up that way.

      startinh issue

      i press choke 5 seconds and am doing as you say,should i not choke first.my johnson would fire right up in neutral,no gas as it would flood. john

        boats.net,thanks have tried what you told me 4 or 5 times and it worked perfect.the bulb felt tight but it wasnt after squeezing a couple times then you could see it wasnt tight.again thanks for your help
