I have a 2005 200 opti max . It has not run well for 3 years. Last year I brought it in for work. Spent $900. From an authorized Mercury dealer in town. Did not fix the problem, they thought it was fuel lines and after that they said bad PCM. Took it to another authorized Mercury mechanic he verified it needed a new PCM. Paid 2399. for new PCM. Brought it home still not running well. Brought it back and found out 1 cylinder is scoured from it running to rich. Recommended repair is new power head $5400. This boat has 132 hrs, easy hrs. Mechanic said that computer would not have diagnosed cylinder running rich. Is this true?

Was it scoured from being rich or lean? My question would be why two certified Mercury mechanics did not do a compression check on a motor coming into the shop. That's outboard trouble shooting 101.
