  • Temperature Warning 2005 2 stroke 115

My recently purchased motor overheated without giving a warning horn or buzzer. The temperature Sensor appeared to work ok as the engine partially shutdown but blew several gaskets. The diagrams for the motor show a horn in the Steering Handle Components diagram. I have remote controls, no handle. The engine serial number is 1B187508 and 1115422DY model.

I saw a warning light kit but I want sound rather than the light since I'm normally watching where I'm going not looking at the console.

I'd appreciate help in locating or adding a horn.

Poke around the wire harness at the helm. you might find a unused brown wire. I would thing thats for the horn. Most of the time the engine supplies ground and you'll need to provide A+ to the horn via the ignition switch

      Previous Owner

The previous owner had disconnected the alarm, under the helm, when the oil warning stayed on erroneously.
