  • Outboard Alarm

    2001 Mercury 50hp oil injected 2-stroke.

Cranks, idles, and runs fine at idle speed. Just after power is applied and before plane, alarm sounds. Oil reservoir is full and "pee stream" appears strong. Low oil alarm has worked fine in past times with low oil but alarm disables when oil is provided. Alarm does NOT sound when switched on.

What should I be looking at???

    Many thx...

      alarm

Disconnect the tan wire from the low oil warning module if the horn still sounds it is the overheat sensor or water pump if the horn goes away it will be the low oil warning module or the sensor in the oil tank. Probably the part built into the inside of the oil tank.
