Mercury 8 HP 2 stroke

My Trolling motor is leaking thick oil out of the prop. Does anybody know what this oil is and what part has gone bad. I checked the lower gear box, and it seemed to be normal. The oil dripping out is very thick. Maybe bearing packing grease?? Anything will probably help, thx.

Sounds like your seal is bad around the prop shaft.

Prop seal?

Any suggestions on how to change the prop seal, what parts to buy specifically? There is a seal kit on this site, but I'm not sure if that's what I need,or just the seal itself?
