hour meter location

Where is everybody mounting their hour meters? Are the cables long enough to reach the console? I still have to hook up my Power tilt/trim gauge.

That's what I want to do. Do they come with enough wire to reach from the motor to a side console? Also, can you pre-set any hours on the meter. I've probably got about 50-100 hours on my motor.

Hour meter connects to key switch, gauge wont come with wiring. No meter can not be reset it will start at 0 hours.

Ok. I'll add a meter when I change over to synthetic oil and use that as a starting point. Actually, I probably only have about 20hrs on it. I think I've been fishing about 5 times on the river here. Are the hour meters hard to connect?
