trying to install trim gauge on 1860 tracker with 80 hp optimax

Every thing I see says there is a brown wire with white strip under dash? That wire comes from sending unit up into throttle box, but not coming out unless a different wire color, any suggestions!

It is probably taped to main harness going to key switch. Need to check your motor to see if has the trim sender installed on it.
