    Hi, I have a 200 HP 1996 carburated.
This motor was running perfect until I reinstall it on another boat.
Iddle seems to be ok, but when going wot it just gets to 2000 rpm.
I have tried the following : change stator, trigger, switch box, clean carburators, change propeller from 21 to pitch 17. The boat now is a 21'.
Everything I have done have had no effect, always 2000 rpm at the most. Compression values are 120 in all 6 cyl.
Something curious...cant get to charge battery nor tacho works.
    What can I do next?
    Thanks.

Check for spark on all cylinders, check fuel condition and see if carbs are clean.
Need to test stator and voltage regulator to see if charging.

      Thanks for your reply.
I have verified spark on all 6 cylinders.
Question : can the voltaje regulator prevent the motor to go over 2000 rpms?
That would be the only thing I have not tried changing.
      Thanks.

No voltage regulator would not affect engine performance other than if battery gets below 10 volts engine could shut off.

I have verified the following...I have spark on all 6 cylinders at low rpms, when accelerating spark goes out on some cylinders.
Any sugestions on where to check please.

Then need to test peak reading voltage output of stator, triggers and switch at time it is loosing fire.
