I have a 1980 mercury 20hp. I have a starter for it and the recoil housing that it mounts on. I have put it all together but I think I am missing some parts. Are there spacers that go underneath the housing? If I don't use something to space it out the housing rubs on the flywheel. The issue im having is the newly rebuilt starter I have on it is not turning the motor very well at all, I think its binding on the flywheel but I can not find a diagram showing the recoil housing mounting to the motor to be able to tell what spacers I may or may not need. Any help would be appreciated.

No don't remember a spacer, usually the new starter comes with housing and bolts on engine.Regards
