1970 Mercury 500 50 hp lower unit

I would like to replace all the seals in the lower unit to prevent leakage of oil and water from entering. My serial # is 2861145. any help would be appreciated. and if the tool necessary to remove large ring is available.

You can find the retaining ring tool on Ebay just measure the inside diameter of the ring prior to ordering it to ensure your getting one that fits. If Merc doesn't have the parts you can get them from Seirra. They are real easy to reseal, but if it doesn't leak now, repairing it might. Have fun with it.
