I am looking to replace my prop on my 5 hp out board motor. I use this on a canoe with bracket that puts motor on side of canoe. I use this in river with good amount of current will travel 7 or 8 miles against current with loaded canoe. Canoe is 20 ft long weighing 125 lbs will have 5 or 6 hundred lbs in canoe. I have alum prop now 3 blade 8 dia 8 pitch this would at full acceleration go faster then i felt safe. What prop should i chose for more low end

Smaller pitch prop will give more low end power, better for heavy loads and will turn more rpm's at full throttle. A larger pitch prop will give higher mph and less rpm's at full throttle.
