  • voltage?

1989,or??, may have a used power head, ser # 0b311096...The voltage guage is reading 16 volts... is this normal? Automotive applications are about 13.5 volts. I have put a volt meter on it to concure with the guage on the dash, and it reads 16v. I have a seloc marine manual and nowhere is there a voltage regulator and it only talks about net amps in the section about charging circuit. When talking to tracker marine, they come up with a voltage regulator, but the manual wiring diagrams in the manual do not show voltage regulators, only rectifiers. Why, the 16 volts, and do I need something the book is not calling for, nor does it show a wiring diagram for the regulator?

Some cases the stator puts out too much voltage.
I think CDI Electronics sells a regulator.
I'll check some more and add another site if I can find.J
