      Running poorly

This motor has always run great but suddenly started to run poorly at full throttle. It misfires and cuts out when approaching full throttle. At lower speeds it seems fine except when idling in neutral at which point it coughs almost like its backfiring through exaust. If I put it in gear it smoothes right out with the load on it. I pulled the carb and gave it a complete cleaning though I found no dirt and it seemed to be very clean. I would like to know what the float level should be and any thoughts as to what else could be causing the motor to run this way. Compression is good and equal on both cylinders and I've installed a fresh set of plugs. Fuel filter is sparkling clean. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. I thank you in advance :-)

Make sure your trigger assembly is advancing with the throttle. Also check the base timing.

You can check the float levels. The float level would cause fuel starving.
