I am having problems determining which kit I need to convert a 1996 15HP Mercury, ser no. 0G290569 to electric start. Can anyone help?

Looking into the same thing. 1997 20 horse.

I believe also #87-823609A7 for tiller models (not sure for remote).

Will adding these kits allow the motor to charge the elec system while running? or are other parts needed?

You will have to purchase an charge kit, does not come with electric start kit.
