  • 1986 115HP runs rough above 1/4 throttle

Engine has about 150 hours on it. Ran perfect 3 weeks ago- now-starts well but at 1/4 throttle or more it struggles and runs rough. I did put new parts in the fuel pump 4 weeks ago but it ran fine for at least 3 hours after that. Today I put a fuel pressure gauge in the line from the pump and it holds 2 1/2 psi all the time while running. Also ran a fuel line from a jar directly to the pump to bypass the regular fuel source. Replaced the plugs twice- they get somewhat wet after running with it running rough.
In reading the wet plugs, they are all wet-- it does not seem to me to be one of the carbs acting up.
Not sure how to check the ignition--
I can go thru the carbs but does not seem right as I keep sta bil in it and the fuel filter shows no sign of water/gunk in the fuel line.
Most grateful for help- gotta catch some salmon!
Rough idea on cost of a coil and ignition module?

You need a peak reading voltmeter to test voltage output of stator, trigger coils and switch box output while engine is acting up to tell which part is a fault, check each cylinder fire with timing light to see which ones are misfiring.
