Merc 25 prop shaft seal replacement?

Question... On a 1997 Mercury 25 ELH, Can I replace the propeller shaft seals (without dropping the lower unit) while the engine is still on my boat? Can I removethe shaft and get the seals from the Carrier Assembly without dropping
the lower unit gearcase off the motor?

Usually you can remove the bearing carrier without removing the lower unit.
