Hi there. I bought a mercury 25hp powerhead, new old stock. Was told it had racing carb on it. Received today. After some research, it looks like a 25xs racing engine (not 25 sx like it was listed as). I had no clue until it arrived....was looking for a new powerhead for my fishing boat (25 merc). Now I'm pretty certain I don't want to use it for the boat, as it might be worth something more to someone else. Any advice would be appreciated, as I am not familiar with these outboards. the best I can surmise is that it is a 1985 mercury 25xs powerhead, NOS, complete with adapter plate, driveshaft (not sure of length) gasket set for mounting, etc. Any help or advice would be appreciated. I a feeling I will be posting in a for sale spot, but until then, someone let me know what I "gots" please (value?).
