Rite size???

I have a 87 mercury 60hp serial#0b148681 what is the proprer size fuel from auto-blend tank to the ball to the engine?does it matter?5/8th,3/16th? also is it ok to put in inline filter see-thru before the auto blend unti to watch for contaminets? thanks for the help

They are usually 5/16 fuel hose.
