1978 4 1/2 hp Merc

I have an older 1978 Merc 4 1/2 hp two stroke engine
that starts and runs ok. It will start in Neutral,
then I can shift to forward and the motor will
proceed forward. However, it will not shift into
reverse for some reason, and when in forward I
cannot tilt the motor up like it used to do..
Any help is appreciated..

Check the tilt lock and make sure working properly
