Hi, My son and I have just purchased a second hand rib, we have been told that the engine is 35 H.P.
and we have noticed the Mercury word cast onto some of the parts, it is a two cylinder two stroke but we do not know how to identify it. We do not know its year of manufacture. Where should we be looking for engine numbers etc,. and what is the correct two stroke mix for these engines. It has both pull & electric start.

Check below the front of the cowling for a silver tag...if not there check the transom bracket.

Now, if you find nothing, check on the exhaust side of the engine for a small frost plug, sometimes it houses the serial number.

The engine uses Mercury's own oil and is mixed at 50:1
