Hi, my first post (long) , looked in the archives but did not see my problem. Am in the process of getting my 85 115 inline 6 outboard running. Have replaced the power head and am in the process of connecting the wiring back up and have come up with a discrepancy between the factory manual diagram and my engine harness and do not know how to proceed. My pin out is as follows:
My Pin # My 115 harness Pin # Factory Diagram factory says it connects to
1 yellow/red 7 yellow/red rectifier
2 yellow/black 1 yellow black choke solenoid
3 gray 5 gray rectifier
4 black 4 black ground
5 brown (not hooked up) ????
6 pin missing ??? 6 black/yellow mercury switch/ignition
7 black/yellow 6 black/yellow " " " "
8 red 8 red starter solenoid
I have another engine harness from a 140 of similar age and the pin out on it is the same as my 115. Any ideas, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Hope my columns don't move
