Hey everyone. I am planning to buy this used Mariner 175HP outboard, but the seller doesn't know much about it. He thinks it's a mid 80's model. I can't seem to find anything with the serial number he gave me, 15796606. I'd like to find out what year and model it is. I have a picture, but can't post it here because I don't have one of those picture hosting accounts. Please help! Thanks in advance.

There should only be digits in serial number,
Staring serial number in 1980 was 5555934, next one listed is 6619976 strarting in 1984.
