Default Mariner 30-40 h.p. question

Does anyone know if the only difference in a 30 and 40 h.p. Mariner 2 cylinder motor is the carburetor? Its a 1995 serial #0G160879. If it is would there be any problem with putting the carb for the 40h.p. on my 30? Thanks for any help.
