First timer , I have a 20 Mariner not sure how to find out the year it has numbers 9535710 , Help Please,,,, And I am pulling the lower unit off and I do not know how to unhook the shift rod, Can some one please pass a sight to me on how to remove and go through it ? Need to rebuild unit and I will also like to know where I can get part .. Thank`s

There is a small retainer with a clip on the port side of the engine where the shift rod comes up beside the carb. Remove the clip and slide the connector of the rod. Then all you have to do is to remove the nuts or bolts holding the lower unit on. I can supply what ever parts you need.
