Default Can I hone a mercosil block on a 25 hp mariner

It's on a 1996 engine I'm rebuilding. I've heard some people say you can't.

The Chrome lined cylinders can not be honed or bored out.

It is not lined and does not have sleeves. Has anyone had success honing one of these with mercosil cylinders? Is there a special technique?

You need a set of hard stones and a Sunnen hone, you cannot do this with a ball hone. You can send it to Mar-Fab in Sparta,Tn to have honed...
