Hello anyone, this is my first post: The jet stems on both of the carbs are trash. It's amazing how much damage salt water can do in such a short time. I have combed the waters edge trying to find replacement units. I am at the point of soldering the hole shut and drill a jet into it so I can go fishing. I dont think it would work but I may have to try. Any suggestions?

I am assuming you are talking about the either the air or fuel jets and not the needle valves.
I couldn't find replacement altitude jets, and called Mercury direct, got someone that knew which combination of jets for each altitude shift, and then she did a search and told me several places where i could find the 'very rare' jets i needed.
