Default having problems with the aceleration of my boat

I have a 1983 85 hp force engine. The engine runs fine when it is out of the water. However, when I put the boat in the water, I go to engage the engine and it wants to die. If I push the throttle wide open it goes all sudden almost throwing yourself out of the boat. I was wondering if anyone had any input on exactly what is wrong with it. I have heard it is a carbreauter issue, and if so does anyone know a good book that would show how to tune in the carbreauturs. I would highly appreciate it.

Default "Anything Mechanical is like a puzzle...

"Anything Mechanical is like a puzzle...pay attention how it comes apart, surely you can put it back together!"

Polish Fix: Undo the nuts or bolts, give it a clean then put it back together the opposite way you took it apart.

Mine was doing the same thing so i dialed the carb needles all the way in and backed them out 1/4 turn until the motor ran good. you will have to dial them out a little at a time to get the motor to start. After it starts then start your 1/4 turns, run it a little rich.
