Default Force 90 hp 1998

Hello, I'm having a problem with my motor. I just bought the boat about a month ago. It runs really well for a 90 hp on a 17' boat. I can get 38 gps out of it witch I think is good for that setup? My problem is with starting and idling. The boat starts up but it seems to crank to long before starting. The idle seem rough when it starts to warm up, it is around 700-800 on the tach. When I run it @ wot and pull it back it down to slow speed it seems fine, but when I pull it to neutral it shuts off. When I try to start it up I have to throw it into gear really fast to get it to start back up. As long as I keep just a "little" bit of throttle it performs perfect. I change plugs, Replaced primer ball and line, new plugs, new fuel filter, new fuel and Quick clean/startron in new fuel. I ran it wot for 15miles with no problem. I didn't clean carbs, but they look clean. Just having the idling problem. I hat to take it to the part changers @ 85.00hr.Thanks for the help

im certainly no mechanic but it sounds to me like it might be as simple as a carberator(s) adjustment... i have an 85hp 1988 had similar problem with rough idle and rough acceleration had the carbs adjusted and it runs awesome now. get yourself a repair manual and it will give you step by step instructions on how to adjust them... a great investment. good luck

It does sound like the carburetors need to be cleaned and properly adjusted.
