Default 50 hp force no spark on bottom cylinder

Hello ...I have a 50 hp force 91 model .I have no spark on the bottom cylinder.I replaced the coil. no help. I popped the flywheel off. the magnets looked ok.The stator has a lot of black dust on one side.the opposite side is clean.checked all wires for breaks ..The water pump went out last winter the motor overheated.. fixed the pump. had about 1/2 hour run time on the fixed motor when the elec. problem came up. could one problem cause the other?? Thanks Dave

If the unit overheaded to the point that there were some melted wires, then yes this can cause further problems. You should check the stator's, triggers and coils output and ohm readings. It is possible the CDI unit has gone out, but you must check all the other readings first.
