I have a 92-94 Force 40 that runs ok at low throttle, but starts missing & bucking at 1/2 throttle. Lower plug is oily & carboned. If I stay below half, plug is light tan. I replaced the plug, plug wire & coil as coil looked like it had be hot. I tested in tank today and still misses at half throttle.
While looking for loose connections, I happened to touch the rectifier and it was very hot. Would this cause a miss?

Check your carburetor.
