Default Water pump torque spec's MR

First post so bear with me. I did a forum search and found nothing.
I have a 1985 260 merc with a MR drive. I purchased the complete water pump kit (upper and lower housing). My Clymer manual states the torques as follows: Nuts: 60-90 In. Lbs. Screw 30-40 in.Lbs.
It also states for the #1 drive for the 1/4-28 nut: 20-30 in. lbs. and the 5/16-24 nut: 35-40 in. lbs.
It also states Late Models; Aft bolt 20-30 ft.lb and aft and foreward nuts 50-60 in. lbs.

I know the torque specs are important because of the plastic housing. The pump housing I took off is distorted because over tightening.
Where can I find the proper torque specs for my MR pump. Clymer's specs don't seem right.
It has two 1/4-28 nuts . One 5/16-24 nut and a long screw.

Thanks, Chuck E.

One other thing. When I drained the oil it came out clean but when I separated the upper and lower housings the vertical shaft was creamy. I also noticed that there was not a O ring on the upper part of the vertical shaft. Just wondering if the absence of that O ring could cause water in the drive shaft housing. The outdrive was completely sealed approx 150 hrs prior. There was not enough water infiltration to to make the lower housing oil creamy. Very slight grove in the vert. shaft from the oil seal but doesn't seem like that would cause the problem.

Thanks again, Chuck E.
