Default wire harness burned, replaced, motor dont start

i have a 2003 mercury 3 cylinder 50 hp motor. the wire harness burned up on it. Replaced it with a new one and had to replace regulator. I matched all the wires up on it but ended up without a wire connecting to a brown wire, and also to a yellow wire with a black line. The both have female connectors on them. Does something plug into these? After replacement of regulator and wire harness. Tried starting the motor, and the motor wont start. It turns over but no start. Im thinking the spart plugs are not getting a spark, but don't know for sure. Please help!

I do believe wires from the stator that connect into two yellow wires. Which I think are power wires. the connectors slightly burned with the old wire harness. The new wireharness can still connect into them.

Please help! Should I replace the stator? Is there a way of testing it?

Yes there is a way to test it. You will need a service manual though.
