I am new to outboards and am trying to install a lower unit seal kit for my 1988 mercury 9.9 hp. Bought a Seloc and it says I have a "type B" lower unit. Have been trying to follow along but am stuck as the lower unit will separate only about 1 to 2 inches from the main housing. Whats holding it up?
