Default Tps

I have a Merc 240 that needs a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) they are backordered from Mercury indefinatley and my boat won't work without it.

Part #148512 (also called an indicator)

Anyone know of a boat junk yard or somewhere that might have this part? I have contacted virtually every Authorized Merc dealer in the US.

Thanks,

I checked with Mercury this morning and they are telling me sometime in August !!!! I have this part on back order with boats.net and they emailed me July 16th. Boats.net is that correct ?

I am getting very close to my holidays and am getting extremely frustrated very quickly with Mercury. I just came back from the lake boatless on my first week of holidays. This is 100% not acceptable. I have been waiting on this part since May long weekend. I have installed a tower on my 2000 Challenger since then plus hydro turf and a $1000 stereo. The boat is simply waiting on this part. It was suppose to be in June 30th now Boats.net is saying July 16th and Mercury from Fond du lac are saying sometime in August. What is the deal here ? This is not a 30 year old engine we are talking about.

I live in Canada by August our season is half over and I have burned 3/4 of a tank of fuel. I hate to knock Mercury but after this incompetnent mis-management I have no problem never reccomending them to anyone again. They would not even put me through to a Manager today.

Default Backorder

I do know for a fact that Mercury's part system adds two weeks to the backorder automatically everytime it doesn't show up in stock.

Merc's system will never show a backorder dates of longer than two weeks on this part, even if they never get it.
