Default Shift control problem

I have a 2002 EFI 225 Center console boat When I shift into forward gear the engine accelerates before it goes into gear making it lurch and I can also hear the gear grinding. I don't have the problem in reverse gear. Both cables are new, they have been adjusted and the shift control box is new.

It's normally an adjustment at engine , with control box in neutral and shift linkage on motor in neutral position adjust shift cable to fit. Adjust throttle cable to hold throttle lever against throttle stop. If that doesn't work then check that cables are connected correctly in control box and there are no extra slack in cables.
