Hi Folks:

I'm new here and I'm trying to find out info on remote control interchangeability. I did a search a couple different ways and didn't find an answers so my apologies if this has been discussed to death already.

I purchased a 1985 Mercury 35hp remote motor mainly for the steering console and controls that came with the boat. I'm planning to actually use a different engine for my boat as the 35hp is too large. I'd like to know what years will the controls I have with this engine interchange with and what size.

As an example, can I use these controls with an early 2000's 9.9 or 15hp 2 stroke engine? If not, what engine sizes or year ranges am I limited to using these controls with?

Any info you could help with I would be most appreciated,
