Hello, I have a 95 merc 150 EFI XRI that I am putting new voltage regulators on. when I removed the old ones the bottom regulator had a grey wire that wasn't hooked up, However the wire was capped off, is this correct? The other question is, there are two yellow wires on each regulator that go to the stator,does it matter which one goes where? Thanks, Rich

The gray wire is for the tach signal, there should be a weather plug for the unused wire.
There are 2 paired wires from the stator, they are pretty self explanatory when you look at them
