i have an 1984 200 mercury outboard carberated 2 stroke. The powerhead is shot and I need to purchase a new one. I found a good deal on the same power head (meaning a 200 horse mercury carberated 2 stroke) but it is a 1993. I was told that all the power heads and lower units are universal with each other as long as the horse power is the same. Does anyone know if this is true or have any idea where i could find the info telling me wich powerheads match up with wich lower units. Thanks a million

It looks like 1984-1990 were the same. The 1993 powerhead will work on motors 1991-2003.
