pin 6 missing on 896542T08 harness

I received my 8 pin harness connector 896542T08 to a 14 pin connector but I noticed pin 6 is missing on the 8 pin side, I have 4 external wires 2 for trim up and down,1 for trim gauge and a tan wire, Is number 6 needed and what is the tan wire for and do I need it.
