hi anyone help, my 50hp 4cyl 2 stroke mercury is only firing on 2cyl , have eliminated the plugs,leads,coils, engine charges battery ok , could this problem be caused by a faulty cdi unit ??

yes most likely the dc unit!you shoud do a dva test to confirm goodluck

i also have a 50 merc 4 cyl and i go through a cd box every couple years..just a flaw with there igntion system. go figure

ok tks for the help, oh whats a dva test??? any ideas whare i could get a secondhand cdi unit ?
