Default Oil Overflow Problem

I have a 1994 Mercury Black Max 150. I noticed oil coming from the engine and upon visually checking the motor I can't find anywhere that the oil is coming out of. The only thing I can think of is that the oil compartment on top of the motor is over flowing. Has anyone had a problem like this?

Yes it is possible, you will need to clean up and watch for the leak.

A friend or mine had the cap on the oil tank leaking,he found that it had a crack in the top as if someone had tightened it up to tight. He bought a new cap and solved the problem,he still had a mess to clean up.
