Default Need Help with wiring issue

HELP!!!
I have a Mercury 35 motor that came with the throttle controls. My problem is my tilt/trim doesn't work it just clicks. The motor starts and runs fine. I have 3 extra wires coming from the side where the battery wires come from. It has 3 wires as follows:
1. Purple which changes to red once inside the engine compartment and goes to the throttle control.
2. Black wire which goes to a spark plug control module.
3. Tan wire which goes to the spark plug control module.
the tan and black go to the same connection of the spark plug module.
Does anyone have any idea where they go?
Does the purple go to Battery + and the tan and black to the Battery - ?

please help me, I am new to boating and this is my first boat ever. Thank you for any help.
My serial number is 0C187644 if this helps.

Sounds like have either a bad trim solenoid or bad trim motor, test solenoid to see if it's working ok.
