Default mercury flywheel magnets

I cannot find magnets for my 1987 35hp flywheel. I am told I will have to purchase entire flywheel which is obsolete and a used one is $275. Just curious if anyone has ever had magnets machined/ground for a flywheel. Not sure where I would get specs, material, orientation, strength, size.

Default Magnets

Do you have the old magnets still on the flywheel? Frank Erion has a machine that will renew old magnets. He has done many for the old Phelon mageto on 20H and KG7 and KG4 engines.
