merc 9.9 year?

Hi there foks,
Can anyone please help me determine a year so I can order an impeller (no more telltale...), manual etc. for this motor I just bought (well used).

ser # 7141316 (no indication it is a 110?)

It looks similar to the picture of the 1976 9.8 posted by Eric B at

However, if I understand this chart properly:

it would be a 1963! I really don't think its THAT old! lol?
Any other year/ser# charts out there? Thanks!

Not sure of the exact year, but if you go to www.dougrussell.com and look in the parts section, then click Mercury, and then 9.8, your serial number range will come up and you can find all of the part numbers for your engine.

Thanks, got me a little bit ahead as my serial fell into a range- but couldn't find impellers on their parts site for some reason. Must find year....

It has a Canada serial number. It's a 1979.
