I have a 1985 mercury 75 hp serial #A145419 and I would like to change the water pump impeller. I have never done any outboard work and can use some help with a some tips to prevent any damage to the shaft. One of my major concerns is what gear should I engage when removing and installing the lower unit. Thanks in advanced.
