I have a 1986 60 HP 3 cyl Merc otbd. Great motor and never had any trouble. One thing that has been a pain the last couple of years is the throttle assy. It is the one that has a Square button on the side that you depress to put into neutral. You have to pound on the button several times to get it to work. I took off the side cover etc. and can't determine what is worn or broken. Any ideas on adjustment or if I can get a new throttle assy. The tilt/trim are separate buttons mounted on console!!
Probably would need to replace the shaft assy, part number 817253A 1.
New control would be part number 881170A20 Side Mount remote with trim
Would have to change cables, need two 850716A__(replace __ with length cables needed)
