Hey all, so i got a mercury 85 hp outboard motor and after about 4 years of sitting my dad an I got it running pretty easily and notice some things, first off not much is coming out of the pee hole, its more then dripping, but not shooting, smoke as well. Im thinking the impeller is going. Next, there is a crack on the lower unit, where the prop goes onto the shaft the actual lower unit housing has about a 6'' crack, i was told that it isnt to the bearings yet but it will get there. Is it safe to weld that? I dont have a year/ model on it, i do have a picture i can upload. any other advise on what to check out would be appreciated. thanks anthony.
