Okay, I have been boating for a few years now but have never seen this. The gear ring on my Merc 40hp 2 stroke 2 cyl fell off the flywheel.

My question to the wise ones here is....

Do I...

A - have the ability to put the ring back on?

B - Have to buy a new flywheel?

C - Have this flywheel rebuilt?

D - Dance the funky chicken and give up on boating

Any advice would be very helpfull

Serial number?

Don't run a bent prop once you fix the flywheel. A bent prop will vibrate throughout the engine, and all kinds of important stuff will fall off.
